A fortnight before Anil Kapoor's appearance, Anu Malik appeared on the Rediff Chat. And though the line of questioning was consistently hostile, the composer never once lost his cool, singlemindedly promoting his new album.

I think that either he comes up with total copy music that is just "bad" or he comes up with brilliant music like when he works with the Bhatts. I've noticed that his best music has been in Bhatt productions.

Bazigaar was good. So were some other non-Bhatt productions, but look at stuff like Naaraz, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayee, Jaan, Sir, etc. etc. etc.

ANU: I've noticed that some of your best work has been under Bhatt productions. Look at Sir, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayee, Jaanam, Naaraz, and so many others. Whenever you've done a Bhatt production, the results have been good. Your music tends to be less on the pop side and more mellow and poignant. What do you think?

Dear Tone Deaf: I'm not Stone DEAF to the laughter and the giggles of beautiful ladies they inspire me to create such great numbers as Chura Ke Dil Mera Goriya Chali , Kaali Kaali Aankhen, Ruk Ruk Ruk, or Ho Nahin Sakta, just to name a few of my songs , mind you I respect ladies too much to ever think anything otherwise so If I'm a ladies man so be it.

ANU: SWARNALATHA seems to be your replacement for Alisha. She is a very good singer - you should use her more often. But also, Alisha and you made a VERY good pair in your music. Her voice with your music was the best combination. It's too bad that you two don't work together anymore. Is there any chance of a reunion or a fresh beginning of a bitter end?
