DisgruntledTCSEmployee : TCS has over 7000 professionals. There will always be employees who will never be happy. TCS turnover is around 12% which is the lowest in the industry. TCS in our opinion has the most up-to-date and advanced practices in recruitment, in training and providing accelerated experience. Last yr. TCS spent more rthan 6% of its gross revenue on training. In return TCS expects some commitment from its staff memberes and also TCS when it obtains employment visa for its staff is boliged to ensure that the visa isnot misused. tera (Mon Dec 2 20:35:53 1996 IST):
hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! netman (Mon Dec 2 20:36:30 1996 IST):

rediff: how do you do that. i,m new here on the net. FC Kohli (Mon Dec 2 20:37:45 1996 IST):
Indy: There is no difficulty in assessing the user requirements. The difficult part is determinig the requirement of many users within the same industry and designing the product which will meet theit requirement without any requirement of re-engineering of their processes in place. King (Mon Dec 2 20:39:18 1996 IST):

FC Kohli (Mon Dec 2 20:41:46 1996 IST):
netman: I agree with you. We have to create awareness with the govt. and other bodies. How computers could enhace the productivity and increease the level of service to the people of India. This awareness is coming slowly and we have to find means to accelerate the process. Indy (Mon Dec 2 20:41:48 1996 IST):

Mr N Vittal has lambasted the Indian government's repressive and regressive policies regarding the IT industry. Is there any scope for IT with the ever-so-panicky leftists part of the govt, and with this perpetual fear of foreign industry taking over Indian industry?? tera (Mon Dec 2 20:43:26 1996 IST):

MR KOHLI, PARDON ME, EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT CONVINCING THE GOVERNMENT. NOW COULD YOU CHALK OUT A STRATEGY TO CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT'S MIND. I MEAN WHAT SHOULD THE INDUSTRY BE DOING TOWARD THIS END? DisgruntledTCSEmployee (Mon Dec 2 20:44:34 1996 IST):
What is your opinion about the fact that the Tata group has some 8 or 9 companies in the IT industry most of which are performing miserably. Take the two leaders, TCS and TUL, how are they better off by functioning as two different companies when their business objectives are the same? Wouldn't it have been better to pool the talents of the two together? TUL by Indy (Mon Dec 2 20:48:41 1996 IST):
mr kohli, how will indian companies ever manage to assess the user
needs in the US so as to develop products? FC Kohli (Mon Dec 2 20:49:33 1996 IST): PC-man: SOftware piracy is an issue in all countries including US. NASSCOM and the software producers have been taking steps to reduce piracy. I don't think piracy at this point is a worry at this juncture. The application product producer both-within the country and abroad are satisfied with the steps taken against piracy.
software: I always thought it was easier to produce hardware than software. Once you have designed the circuitry and obtained components, we could produce the same piece million times. In software aprt from product like Windows, word processors etc. most of the systems have to be tailored to client's requirements. With the globalisation, the software requirement has become complex. PC-Man (Mon Dec 2 20:52:49 1996 IST):
Mr. Kohli: What about Indian Software producer I don't think they will ever be happy with the pesent rate of piracy in India. Waht are your views??
