Cong in Haryana; RJD down in Bihar: NDTV poll

At the end of the first phase of polling in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana on Thursday, an exit poll showed the Congress consolidating its Lok Sabha victory.

NDTV exit poll in Haryana showed Congress getting a clear majority of around 60 out of 90 seats in the state.

In Bihar, the picture indicated a hung assembly with the ruling Rashtriya Janata Party getting around 10 seats less than the last state polls. Projections put RJD's share at around 23 out of the 63 constituencies that went to polls.

BJP and ally Janata Dal United could get around 21 seats, the Congress and Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti could get around 11 seats.

In Jharkhand, of the 24 seats that were up for grabs, the Congress-JMM alliance might bag 12 seats; the ruling BJP is down to 8 seats, while the RJD might get 4 seats.

According to the AC Nielsen/Star News poll, the Congress will win 58 seats in Haryana, with the INLD getting 15 and the BJP 7.

In the first phase of election in Bihar, the poll said, the RJD would win 28 of the 64 seats that went to polls. The BJP-JDU combine will get 21 seats, while the LJP will be victorious in 6 seats.

It said in Jharkhand the BJP would win 14 of the 24 seats that went to election in the first phase. The Cong-JMM combine will win 6 seats, and the RJD three.
