The Lok Janshakti Party on Saturday ridiculed the Rashtriya Janata Dal for staking its claim to form the next government in Bihar.

Caretaker chief minister and RJD Legislature Party leader Rabri Devi met the governor on Saturday morning and staked her party's claim to form the government.

Rabri Devi was accompanied by her husband and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan said his party is in "no hurry" to install any political combination in power in Patna.

"Let the RJD stake claim. How does it matter? If by staking claim one can become the President of India, so be it," he said.

He said the LJP, with 29 legislators, has pledged to vote against the RJD on the floor of the Bihar assembly.

Paswan claimed he has the support of seven Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) MLAs.

Reiterating that under the given circumstances President's rule would be the best option for Bihar, Paswan said: "President's rule will clear the garbage that has accumulated over the years under the RJD rule."

He ruled out the LJP staking claim to form government. "We will not stake a claim for the government at this
stage," Paswan said.
