The man behind Ajay Jadeja's entry into films is none other than Sunil Shetty.
Ajay, admittedly, had been contemplating joining films. But there was never a concrete offer nor a tempting role.
It was Sunil Shetty, during a story sitting with producer Pammi Sandhu, who realised that the role suited Jadeja perfectly.
The actor was so enthused that he contacted the cricketer as well as negotiated the deal.
He is also contemplating on getting Vinod Kambli to sign up for another role.
Last heard, Sunil is convincing Mohinder Amarnath to sign up for a film too!
All of these films, of course, will have Sunil Shetty playing the main lead.
When AB was reduced to tears!
They had decided.
When they grew up, they would make a film. They would not allow their parents on the sets.
Today, Goldie Behl and Abhishek Bachchan have done just that.
All Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan knew was that Abhishek was doing a film directed by Goldie. Nothing more.
And that of course puts paid to all those rumours about Big B taking a personal interest in the film, as it involved his son and his best friend's son.
What's more. Here's one for the mush records: The Bachchans came out in tears after the first trial screening of the film. They were that moved.
Adnan's a class act!
Adnan Sami is one very happy man. Albeit a bit confused.
There are times he receives calls from noted filmmakers thinking they want him to compose tunes for them. But midway through the meetings, he realises it is the actor in him that they really want.
Whatever the case may be, Sami is thrilled. Three top filmmakers, Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Indra Kumar have had sittings with the talented singer-composer and are on the verge of finalising him as music director of their respective films.
Raveena's gift to her daughter
Raveena Tandon's adopted daughter now zips around town in a Santro.
Who's it gifted by? Mama dearest, naturally!
There's a catch, though. The gift was not bought by said Mama. In fact, reports would have us believe that Raveena couldn't really loosen the pursestrings.
And then there was the matter of Raveena promising to buy a car for her little girl for a long time.
But then luck has the most unexpected ways of smiling at you. The National Award winning actress (Daman), won the car at the Sony Entertainment Television serial, Jeeto Chappar Phad Ke.
Small screen, big exodus
Television serials are catapulting more and more talent into the film industry lately.
There is a definite influx of character artistes from the small screen -- thus displacing the current lot of character artistes who have dominated the film industry.
That benefits the film people just fine. A television artiste is easily available for Rs one lakh, while established stars charge anything between Rs five and nine lakh.
And so, moral of story: the well-known big screen artistes are left with no choice but to cut down their prices.
