Rehashed Rhapsodies!
Seema Pant
Anand-Milind certainly have not been able to match up to their earlier
works, the likes of which include Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Baaghi, Dil, Beta. For the music of Khullam Khulla Pyar Kare is a let down.
After their average Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar, they've reverted to catering to the lowest possible denominator with their latest.
The film, earlier titled Tere Ishq Mein Pad Gaya Re, directed by Harmesh Malhotra (Dulhe Raja), stars Govinda and Preity Zinta in the lead roles.
This fact seems to have been the focus of the composers as they recycled some of their past tunes into energetic, upbeat dance tracks for the actor.
There's Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula crooning Tera ishq mein pad gayee re and Maare nazar se katari.
Udit Narayan, with able support from Narula does a decent enough job of the otherwise insipid Bagawali aankh mare.
The title track (Jolly Mukherjee, Sunidhi Chauhan) has strong shades of the Latin singer Enrique Iglesias’ hit, Baliamos. Jolly Mukherjee, (remember Chahe meri jaan tu le le (Dayaavan) and Goriya re (Aaina)?), though, has made a spirited effort to lift the song from its inspired depths.
Following the latest trend, a remixed version of this track also finds itself on the album.
The rest of the songs are no different from the usual Govinda numbers a la Raja Babu, Hero No 1 and Coolie No 1.
As for the lyrics, sample this: Yeh ladki nahin, yeh benares ka paan hai! (Sonu Nigam and Bela Sulakhe)
