MTNL offers new cell tariff to woo usersState-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam on Wednesday announced reduced cellular tariffs for both post-paid and pre-paid subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai. As per the new tariff plan, the post-paid subscribers both in Delhi and Mumbai would have to pay a fixed monthly rental of Rs 1,900 with no airtime charges either on incoming or outgoing calls, MTNL chairman and managing director Narinder Sharma said adding that only PSTN (land line) charges would be added on a outgoing call. The new scheme has been designed keeping in mind the high end users, he said adding "as earlier, we have matched the competition better." As part of the new tariff for Dolphin, MTNL has reduced outgoing call (including STD and ISD calls) to Rs 1.25 per 30 second call from 0800 IST am to 2200 IST while incoming call would cost 90 paise for 30 seconds. During off-peak hours, from 2200 IST pm to 0800 IST, the outgoing call would cost 63 paise for 30 seconds and incoming call 45 paise, an MTNL statement said. Other incentives like monthly bonus and free airtime with the new Trump card have also been offered. In Mumbai, talk time for different denominations of pre-paid cards has also been increased.
