Nasscom, Nasdaq ink pact

National Association of Software and Services Companies has signed a pact with Nasdaq, electronic stock exchange in US, to assist Indian companies to raise capital and get listed in American capital markets.
"The Indian IT companies are growing in size and have attained reputation and next step for many of them will be to list in US for better accepance by customers", Nasscom president Kiran Karnik said at ceremony to sign Memorandum of Understanding at Nasscom 2003 in Mumbai on Thursday.
As a part of the MoU, both organisations would co-host seminars, exhibitions and orgainse trade missions for the software sector, he said.
Nasdaq Head (international) Charles Balfour said Indian IT services industry was growing at a fast pace which could be maintained through greater access to the largest financial market.
The Amercian bourse would provide information and extend support to Nasscom members planning to list on Nasdaq, Balfour said.
