BPL Telecom launches notebook PC

BPL Telecom Pvt Ltd, a part of the Rs 4500 crore (Rs 45 billion) BPL Group, on Friday launched its new range of Notebook PCs based on Intel's Centrino Mobile Technology.
"We aim to cross over Rs 60 crore (Rs 600 million) business with a wide array of products such as newly launched Notebook, Servers, PDAs and Networking solution," BPL Telecom's product manager Suresh Kumar told reporters.
"This bouquet of products and services along with their strong presence in voice networking, voice processing would position BPL Telecom as a total solutions provider," he said.
Kumar said they plan to strengthen the business by expanding the dealer network and triple the core team operating out of their 17 offices.
The company had chalked out major plans in increasing the BPL Cybercom visibility through effective product placements along with home electronic outlets, local media, hoardings, road shows and tech shows, he said.
Branch head (East) Yogesh Dubey said, "BPL Telecom will leverage its core strengths in design, development and manufacturing in the IT venture with committed R&D expenditure of 4 per cent of the revenue."
