DRDO aircraft crash claims 8

A Defence Research Development Organisation Avro aircraft with four senior DRDO officials and four crew members on board crashed near Kandigai village, Arakonam, 60 km from Madras on Monday afternoon.

A senior official said it was feared that all those on board perished. The wreckage of the aircraft was sighted near the village. A search was on to locate possible survivors.

The aircraft had taken off at 1600 hours from the I N S Rajali, the naval airbase at Arakonam, the official said.
