Parliament to be adjourned for 3 weeks

Parliament would be adjourned on April 27 for a three-week break and would reassemble on May 14 for five days as part of the ongoing Budget Session.

It would be for the first time that the Budget Session of Parliament would have two breaks.

This was the broad consensus reached among political parties at their meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balayogi.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Telugu Desam Party leader Yerran Naidu the decission to adjourn Parliament was taken in view of the impending assembly polls.

He said when Parliament reassembles, it will discuss the Tehelka expose and some other vital issues like the stock market crisis and farmers' suicides.

As per the programme already finalised, the Lok Sabha will pass the Finance Bill on Wednesday.
