Govt to propose posting armed securitymen inside Parliament

The government would suggest Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balayogi to post armed securitymen inside the Parliament House, Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani said on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference, he said the government proposed to discuss the matter with Balayogi 'in view of the overall security situation and the nature of the threat'.

He, however, made it clear that since matters inside Parliament were the 'exclusive preserve' of the Speaker any action would be taken on the basis of his decision only.
