R K Narayan critical

R K Narayan, renowned English novelist, is in a critical condition in a private hospital in Madras following cardio-vascular problems.

According to doctors attending on him, 94-year-old Narayan is now on ventilator support but was conscious.

Narayan, brother of well-known cartoonist R K Laxman, was admitted to the private hospital on April 27.
