The Bihar police have arrested six members of the Ranveer Sena, a private army of upper caste landlords, from Khaira village under Kinjer police station in Arwal district, police sources said on Monday.
The Ranveer Sena is suspected to be behind several massacres of lower caste supporters of Naxalites and Left-oriented parties.
Inspector General of Police (operations) Neelmani said the men, led by Vijay Kumar of Nirajpur village, were hatching a conspiracy to commit some crimes in the district when the police swooped down on them.
Police sources said that two country-made pistols, one gun, some live cartridges and a diary containing details of extortion money, were recovered from the arrested men.
Neelmani said that Satish Sharma, a resident of Senari village, wanted in connection with the Miapur carnage was among those arrested.
