In a pre-dawn attack, five cattle grazers were shot dead by militants in a remote village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, official sources said.
Heavily armed militants swooped down on Mani-Duhata village around 0400 hours, dragged five persons out of their huts and shot them dead.
The victims were identified as: John Mohmmad, his brother Fazal, Abdul Gani, Javed Ahmed and Nand Lal.
It appeared to be a revenge attack as just few days back a foreign mercenary was killed and two others injured in John Mohammad's house, sources said.
