The two terrorists were killed in an encounter with a joint search party of the army and the Special Operations Group of local police at Rang-Top in Kalaroos area of Kupwara on Wednesday, the sources said.
A Kalashnikov rifle, three magazines with 140 rounds, a rocket projectile gun, four rockets with boosters, eight grenades and a wireless set were recovered from the slain terrorists, they added.
Terrorists shot dead a former associate, Wali Payar, inside his house at Manigah near Haihama in Kupwara on Tuesday night, the sources said, adding his four-year-old son was injured in the shooting.
Wali was helping terrorists in Kupwara before his arrest, the sources said, adding that he was recently released from prison.
Meanwhile, a defence spokesman said that the army busted a terrorist hideout at Chowkibal Behak in Kupwara on Sunday evening.
A search led to the recovery of a flamethrower, two RPG rockets, 117 hand grenades, seven UBGL grenades, four kg of plastic explosives, eight 60mm mortar bombs, 56 detonators, three remote control devices and four time pencils, the spokesman said.
