Jayalalithaa drops three ministers,
inducts five

N Sathiya Moorthy in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Saturday dropped three ministers and inducted five.

Among those inducted, two had been dropped on an earlier occasion.

With this, the strength of the Cabinet has gone up to 30.

According to a Raj Bhavan communiqué, Cooperatives Minister P Dhanapal, Backward Classes Minister K Sudarsanam and Labour Minister Va Thu Natarjan have been dropped.

Anwar Raja and C V Damodaran, who were dropped earlier, have been reinducted.

Jayalalithaa also named Vadivel, Pappa Sundaram and R Vaidhyalingam as new ministers.

The portfolios of a few other ministers have also changed, according to the communiqué.
