The diary of Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeswar Singh contains the names and telephone numbers of several upper caste politicians, journalists and police officers, a top Bihar police official told rediff.com on Thursday.
The diary, along with a document explaining the Sena structure, was recovered from the office of an affiliated outfit, Akhil Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Kisan Mahasangh, at Exhibition road in Patna, from where Singh was arrested on August 29.
Another important recovery was a register containing information about the activities of the People's War, Maoist Communist Centre and Communist Party of India-Marxist/Leninist in different parts of the state.
Police sources said the diary contains the telephone numbers of Arun Kumar, Samata Party MP from Jehanabad, C P Thakur, BJP MP from Patna and former Union health minister, Dhumal Singh, MLA, Jagdish Sharma, MLA, Lal Muni Choubey, BJP MP from Buxar, Sanjay Singh, MLA, Vina Shahi, a minister in the Rabri Devi-led RJD government and Ramjatan Sharma, former MLA.
Other persons whose telephone and mobile phone numbers figure in the diary include Jitendra Kumar of the Delhi police, Om Prakash, a journalist associated with a TV channel, and Madan Sharma, a journalist based at Jehanabad, they said.
Meanwhile, a pamphlet issued by the Sena has warned the 'informers' of 'certain death' for helping the police arrest Singh.
Police officials admitted that the Sena chief was captured with the help of informers within the outfit.
In fact, the lack of a recent photograph or any identification mark had helped the Sena chief escape the clutches of the police at Sultanganj a couple of years ago.
The police were in possession of photograph of Singh in his thirties. "That photograph and his present appearance certainly does not match," an official said.
