Hizb threatens attacks against India

August 08, 2003 20:18 IST

Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin on Friday threatened 'target-oriented attacks' against India.

In a written statement to news agency the Associated Press, Salahuddin said the attacks would go on despite the peace overtures between India and Pakistan.

The comments came just two days before a meeting between Pakistani and Indian members of Parliament in Islamabad.

'The present volcanic situation' in Kashmir will not change because of these visits, he said.
