The Karnataka high court has accepted city civil and session court complex as the location for setting up a special court to try two disproportionate assets cases filed against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

A judge will be named on Saturday to head the court.

Chief Justice N K Jain rejected the government proposal to set up the special court in the high security Parappana Agrahara jail premises.

"It is not a good accommodation," Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs D B Chandregowda said in Bangalore.

Chandregowda said the government had suggested the names of four session court judges for appointing one of them as the special court judge and also few names of advocates for appointing as public prosecutor and an assistant public prosecutor.

Chief Justice Jain was expected to announce the name of the judge who would preside over the special court by tomorrow, he said.
