Shahi Imam flays AIMPLB for considering Kanchi seer's proposals

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid , on Wednesday termed as 'unwise' the decision of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board to consider Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati's formula on solving the Ayodhya issue.
Bukhari asserted the Board had no authorisation from the community to talk to 'aggressive' organisations.
He warned that talks on Ayodhya issue would provide 'an excuse' to communal forces to spread hatred against Muslims in the country and maintained the solution to the vexed issue could be achieved only through the judiciary.
"It was a united stand of Muslim organisations that the court decision would be acceptable on this issue. But it is a pity that contrary to it, the AIMPLB made an unwise announcement to consider Shankaracharya's formula without getting idols removed from the Babri Masjid site," Bukhari said.
Bukhari said the recent statements of the VHP and RSS leaders made it 'clear' that they have decided to construct the temple by force after 'threatening Muslims'.
"Communal forces have become active after the report submitted to the Allahabad high court by the Archaeological Survey of India stating that there was no evidence of the presence of any temple at the disputed site," he said. "It is a pity that a handful of people have become instruments of these communal organisations."
