October 03, 2003 14:48 IST

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is fast recovering from the injuries sustained in an attempt on his life at Tirupati two days ago, will resume his daily routine from October 6.

"The chief minister is responding well to the treatment and has been advised two more days of total rest," Health Minister K Sivaprasada Rao told reporters.

The minister said a panel of doctors attending on Naidu has said he will be able to attend office from Monday.

Three others -- Information Minister B Gopalkrishna Reddy and two MLAs -- injured in the attack are all responding well to treatment, Rao said.

A high-level inquiry into the attack began on Friday with security expert C Subrahmanyam holding discussions with senior officials at Tirupati.

Subrahmanyam, a retired IPS officer, is likely to submit his report in a day or two. Subrahmanyam had served in the prime minister's security wing in the early '90s.
