Rocca meets members of Kashmir Committee

American Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca on Thursday afternoon met members of the Kashmir Committee at the Delhi residence of its chairman former Union minister for law and justice Ram Jethmalani.

Among those who attended the meeting, which lasted for more then one and a half hours, was attended by Asian Age editor M J Akbar, senior journalist Dilip Padgaonkar and Ashok Bhan.

Jethmalani later told newspersons that the fight against terror was the main topic of discussion.

"It is important that we met on the 2nd anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks. Since we are partners in the war against terrorism, we did discuss ways to carry forward the objectives of this partnership," he said.

"Naturally Kashmir was also discussed. We are putting our heads together to come up with ways to carry the process of dialogue further," he said.

Jethmalani and his colleagues refused to divulge any more details of the discussion saying they had made a commitment to this effect before the meeting with Rocca.

Rocca is flying back to United States on Friday evening.
