J&K ministers escape unhurt in chopper accident

Four people, including two ministers, had a narrow escape on Wednesday when the chopper they were travelling in got caught in electric cables in Leh.
Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and Consumer Affairs Department Minister Taj Mohideen were on way to Leh to make arrangements for Congress president Sonia Gandhi's rally when the mishap occurred.
"The chopper was flying low to make a landing in Leh when it got caught in electric cables," Mohideen told PTI.
After struggling in the mesh of cables for five minutes, the chopper broke away, he said adding had it not cut the cables, the aircraft would have definitely crashed.
Besides the two ministers, cameramen of two private television channels were also on board the chopper.
