"None is above law. Whatever the misfortune I am suffering, I am okay," the seer was quoted as saying by former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti, who met him in jail in Vellore on Tuesday.

She said the seer is in good health.

Bharti expressed surprise over the "silence" of Congress chief and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the seer's arrest. "A conspiracy is revealed in the silence of Sonia Gandhi...so far no reaction has come from her as chairperson of the UPA," the BJP leader said.

Thanking the Tamil Nadu government for giving her permission to meet the seer, Bharti said she had come to meet
him "not as a politician but as a saint from the Himalayas."
