Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday met Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati and wished her on her 47th birthday.

The Congress chief also presented a bouquet to Mayawati in the presence of a large number of journalists.

Asked if the two leaders discussed political issues, she said no.

Asked if the issue of a tie-up with the Congress would be taken up at the national executive meeting of the BSP on Friday, Mayawati said, "Definitely. We will discuss the matter. It would be the main agenda of the meeting."
