Rains to hit Mumbai in 24 hours

For Mumbaikars experiencing a long spell of summer, respite appears to be just round the corner with the weather bureau forecasting moderate rains or thundershowers in the next 24 hours.

The rains are expected to bring down the temperature to around 33° C, sources said.

The bureau also predicted rain and thundershowers in many places in Konkan region and central Maharashtra. A few places in north central Maharashtra, Marathwada and west Vidharbha are also likely to witness rains.

The bureau has warned of heavy rainfall in isolated districts in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg in the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Aurangabad recorded 2.6 mm rains, Solapur 19.8 mm and Ratnagiri 11.4 mm, the sources said.
