The people of Jammu and Kashmir want to be a part of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee government's 'feel-good' world and live their lives in peace, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, former chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, said in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Mirwaiz, Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat and Bilal Lone arrived in Delhi on Monday evening for the second round of talks with Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, scheduled for later this week.

Hurriyat chairman Maulavi Abbas Ansari will join them by evening.

"We are here to attend a function at the Pakistan high commission on Tuesday evening. From Wednesday we would be holding meetings with officials of US, UK and other embassies before our scheduled second round of talks with Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on Saturday, March 27, around noon at his office in North Block," the Mirwaiz said.

Asked if Fazal Haq Qureshi's withdrawal from the talks was a setback, he said individuals do not matter. "What matters at the end of the day is the organisation. We the people of Jammu and Kashmir want to be a part of the feel good factor and live our lives in a peaceful manner. If the Indo-Pakistan cricket series can be contested in a friendly atmosphere then why not give a chance to peace in the trouble-torn state which has witnessed unprecedented violence in last fifteen years," he said.
