Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa turned 57 on Thursday.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam workers celebrated the day by organising blood donation camps at several places.
Governor S S Barnala also greeted her.
Party workers, at different functions in Chennai, distributed sewing machines and sarees to the poor. They also distributed notebooks to students.
Public Works Department Minister O Pannerselvam cut a 57-feet-long cake at the party headquarters.
Special prayers were also organised in several temples in the state.
