A special court in Bangalore on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against T T V Dinakaran, an accused in the Rs 66.65 crore disproportionate assets case filed against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and others.

The warrant was issued following Dinakaran's failure to appear before the court in compliance with the July 2 summons.

The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for July 16.

Dinkaran's counsel Jina Senan's appeal that his client be given time till July 18 to appear before the court was rejected.

The judge granted exemption from personal appearance to Jayalalithaa, Sashikala Natarajan, V N Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi, the other accused in the case.

The court also permitted inspection of records as sought by N Jyoti, counsel for Jayalalithaa and others, in the presence of a court officer.
