A sessions court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to the Kanchi Junior Acharya Vijayendra Saraswathi in the 'Mutt records tampering case.'
The special investigation team probing the Sankararaman murder case had filed the case under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code against the mutt accountant Kaladi Vishwanatha Iyer in January. They had also implicated the Mutt manager Sundaresa Iyer.
Mutt manager Sundaresa Iyer and Kaladi Vishwanatha Iyer had sought and been granted anticipatory bail in this case.
The Chengalpattu sessions Judge A K Akbar Ali granted the anticipatory bail to the Junior Acharya.
