Dr K K Paul, Delhi police commissioner, has said that the media speculates too much and jumps to conclusions.
He was referring to the various theories put out especially by the television media, which went to town with every small detail concerning the hospitalisation of Rahul Mahajan, son of late Pramod Mahajan, Bhartiya Janata Party leader.
Bibek Maitra, secretary to Mahajan, died soon after he was taken to hospital.
Keeping in mind the high profile case, Dr Paul pressed in all his top officers of the New Delhi district to go after the three persons who had allegedly bought cocaine for young Rahul and Bibek on Thursday night.
Both Rahul and Bibek became ill and were taken to Apollo Hospital by the same men with the help of drivers of Rahul Mahajan.
"Our officers have done a wonderful job. We are now after the fourth man called Sahil and we would get him soon," Paul said.
Doctor Karan Thakur of Apollo Hospital told rediff.com that the condition of Rahul Mahajan was better and he is responding to the treatment.
"We are in the process of preparing a medical bulletin and it shall be released soon. But he is better, you can say that," Dr Karan Thakur said.
According to hospital sources, if Rahul continues to respond to the drugs administered to him, he may be taken off ventilator support for some time to see if he could do without it.
A final decision to remove the life support system would be taken after that.
