Fulfilling its electoral promise, the Dravida Munnethra Kazhagam will distribute free colour televisions on September 15 at Kanchipuram on the occasion of late DMK founder C N Annadurai's birth anniversary. The DMK had incorported this in the 2006-07 budget. An official press release said DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would distribute the TV sets to beneficiaries of a "Samthuvapuram" colony (comprising members of all castes and communities) at Padappai. On September 16, other state ministers will distribute TVs [Get Quote] in all districts, the release said.
