Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Monday distanced himself from the anti-Muslim CD issue and questioned the rationale of the Election Commission to file a police complaint against him in this regard.

"If electoral officer commits any faux pass, will it be right to lodge a complaint against the chief election commissioner," Rajnath told media persons while coming out from the Amausi airport in Lucknow.

The BJP chief said he was wrongly implicated in the case and that he had nothing to do with the controversial CD.

Rajnath, along with Leader of Opposition L K Advani, senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi arrived at the airport in Lucknow on Monday morning and left for BJP headquarters from where he will march towards Hazratganj police station to court arrest in the CD row.
