Did the fake currency haul and the Hyderabad blasts have any connection? This is the angle that is being probed by the Hyderabad police at the moment.

Sources informed that two suspects in the fake currency haul were also injured in the blast that took place at Gokul Chat.

The police is trying to ascertain as to why these persons were at the place at which the blast took place.

As far as the probe goes on the third day after the blasts, the police continues to question Mohammad Abdullah, a native of Assam who was taken into custody. The residents of Bowenpalli in Secunderabad who caught him after they found him to be suspicious say that he too had injuries on his head and hands.

The police are, however, tight-lipped on the two other persons who are in hospital.

Sources say that the two persons were wanted in the currency haul and were in hospital after they were injured in the blasts.

The coincidence makes the situation very suspicious, a police official said.

Preliminary investigations by the police point out that the bombs were planted minutes before they exploded and police have not ruled out the possibility of the bomb planters receiving injuries.

The Hyderabad police busted the fake currency haul involving Rs 2.36 crore on Saturday morning. In all seven persons have been arrested in connection with this case.

Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh said a possible link between the fake currency racket and the terror bombings was also being probed.

He, however, added that it was too early to comment on the link and added that only investigations would give a clear picture.
