A First Information Report has been registered against controversial independent MLA and former minister in the
previous Samajwadi Party government, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, for allegedly giving a false affidavit to
procure arms licences from the state capital.

The FIR was registered late on Saturday night, in which the MLA was charged with securing three arms licences by showing his Lucknow address and suppressing his Pratapgarh address, police said on Sunday.

In the probe conducted by Hazratganj police, Raja Bhaiya was found guilty of providing false information to
secure his arms licences.

The MLA has stated in his affidavit that he was not involved in any criminal case and no case was registered
against him. However, police said that 41 cases were registered against him.

Inquiry related to two weapons - a rifle and a single barrel gun - has been completed, they said, adding that probe
was on regarding issuance of a pistol licence.

Raja Bhaiya was booked under POTA during the previous Bahujan Samaj Party regime.
