Alleging foreign hands were involved in the conspiracy to topple his government, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday said if the Congress dismissed his government, it would never succeed in forming the government at the Centre again.

Mulayam Singh, while addresing a rally of the backward Lodh community in Mahoba, said when he had assumed power in the state in 2003, he had the support of 247 legislators, but alleged that the governor, on the advice of lawyers of Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party, had now prepared a report to dismiss his government.

Mulayam Singh said the Supreme Court had not termed his government as unconstitutional, but the opposition parties were "spreading rumours to whip up a favourable atmosphere for dismissal of the state government."

Terming Manmohan Singh as the "weakest" prime minister, Mulayam Singh accused Dr Singh of failing on every front in his two-and-a-half-year rule.

"He is a good economist, but he does not have any say in Delhi," he said attacking the foreign policy of the Congress-led United Progressive Allaince government.

Mulayam Singh said farmers had committed suicide in Congress-ruled states and claimed the condition was much better in UP, but the Centre was "not acknowledging the stark reality due to political reasons."
