One week after the macabre killings of children in Noida were exposed, Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to sharpen its attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Former UP BJP chief Vinay Katiyar visited Nithari on Wednesday morning to check on developments.

He wanted to inquire about the associations of Mohinder Singh Pandher, the businessman, with local politicians. These associations allegedly bailed Pandher out six months ago when Nand Lal, whose daughter was kidnapped, went to court to get an FIR registered.

"When I went there, the local police tried to hide facts and told us lies about the house. They did not want to see us the room where the children were actually butchered. The police also told us that there was no basement in the house but the local residents confirmed that there was one," Katiyar told newsmen at a press conference in New Delhi.

Ashok Pradhan, a local member of parliament from Khurja, accompanied Katiyar during the tour.

"In the Krishnanand case, too, Mulayam Singh was reluctant to hand over the matter to CBI but we forced him to do that. He should do the same in this case as well. We would like to see why Mulayam Singh Yadav is scared to announce a CBI probe and why he has refrained from visiting the scene of occurance," he said.
