The government on Friday said it was taking a serious view of the emotional outburst of Supreme Court Judge A R Lakshmanan and will react after getting the report of the Chief Justice of India. "We will provide utmost protection to the judge and his family," Minister of State for Home S Regupathy said in Rajya Sabha.
The government intervened when members of the ruling Congress expressed concern over the episode. The statement by the minister, however, did not satisfy them and they continued with their protest forcing adjournment of the House for the day. Earlier in the day, the House was adjourned thrice.
