The West Bengal police on Monday said they were unaware about reported clues having been found that linked the state to Friday's blast at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

"We have no knowledge about any West Bengal connection in the Hyderabad mosque blast," IGP (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia said when asked to comment on media reports.

Asked whether there was any communication from the Andhra Pradesh police to its West Bengal counterpart, the IGP said he had no such information.

DIG (Operations), CID, Rajeev Kumar, said he was unaware of any police team from Hyderabad having arrived in Kolkata in connection with the blast.

Kumar also said, "There has been no detention, no arrest and no information about the arrival of a police team here from Hyderabad."

Deputy Commissioner of Police Gyanwant Singh said there was no instruction to the police to probe links with the Hyderabad blast.
