Curfew remained imposed for the second day today in Srinagar [Images] district in Jammu and Kashmir [Images] with no untoward incident being reported so far from anywhere in the Valley.

Curfew was imposed on Monday in Kashmir after a protest march towards Pakistan occupied Kashmir capital Muzaffarabad -- organised by fruit growers and separatists against the 'economic blockade'-- turned violent.

Prominent Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz and three others were killed and hundreds of people injured in Monday's police firing.

"The situation in tense but under control in the state capital and adjoining areas. No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the Valley," the police said.

Aziz's body, which was taken to Jamia Masjid in the interior city, is likely to be buried at the Eidgah martyrs' graveyard today.

Monday's march by the Kashmir Fruit Growers Association, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Traders Federation, both factions of Hurriyat Conference and the People's Democratic Party followed a call for 'Muzaffarabad chalo' to 'neutralise the economic blockade enforced by the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti', which is spearheading the shrine land stir in the Jammu region.
