Cautioning the United Progressive Alliance against the Samajwadi Party, rebel member Beni Prasad Verma asked the Congress leadership to get rid of the duo of Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav after the trust vote.
Verma urged the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi [Images], to be wary of both Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh.
Verma alleged the lust for power had forced the two to support the UPA government on the N-deal.
"It would be better if the Congress leadership stays clear of such opportunists after the vote of confidence," Verma said. Demanding a just and impartial inquiry against both Yadav and Singh in disproportionate assets cases, as is being done against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Verma claimed that he was getting feelers from the SP to return but he would not do so.
"My political association with Mulayam Singh came to an end because of Amar Singh but my personal relations with him (Mulayam) would last forever," Verma said adding that he would remain with the Congress and contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections
