Arvind Sharma, rebel Congress MP from Haryana, on Monday met BSP chief Mayawati here and announced that he would vote against the government in the trust vote as he was opposed to the nuclear deal.
Sharma drove to Mayawati's residence, two days after he attacked his party for "targeting" Mayawati by using the CBI.
"I will vote against the government. I am opposed to the nuclear deal as it is against the national interest," Sharma told reporters after the meeting with the BSP chief.
Asked whether he will join the BSP, he said people will come to know about his plans after some time.
He alleged the UPA was "enticing" the CBI to "trap" Mayawati on the advice of Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh. Accusing the UPA of showing "two faces", he said, "at one hand Congress talks about respecting women. On the other hand they are pressurising a Dalit woman (Mayawati) who is working for the welfare of all castes and communities."
