The new BJP government in Karnataka will give "top priority" to allegations of corruption against previous governments, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Monday.

"Immediately I will take up the issue of corruption. I will give top priority (to it). I am not going to tolerate corruption," Yeddyurappa, who assumed charge last week heading the first BJP government in south India, told reporters here.

He was replying to a question on whether his government will pursue corruption cases against the previous regimes.

At the same time, Yeddyurappa said his government believed in following the path of cooperation instead of confrontation.

To a question whether he would follow Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's [Images] model in running his government, Yeddyurappa said he would follow the Atal Bihari Vajpayee model.

He lashed out at JD(S), led by former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, for the "unethical political activities" denying him the opportunity to hold Chief Ministership for 20 months under a power-sharing agreement.

Asked whether his government would follow the "Hindutva agenda", he quipped, "Development, development and development will be my agenda."

The Chief Minister said he would send a delegation led by a minister to Gujarat to study the programmes being implemented by the Modi government and give a report to him.
