Struggling hard with the Aarushi murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has now approached television channels for handing over raw footage of coverage of the twin murder case.

The CBI shot off letters to all television channels today morning, asking them to provide the unedited footage of the coverage of the murder case.

The surprising move comes a day after the CBI had been probing a television channel, which had attempted to hack the gmail accounts of Aarushi and Rajesh Talwar.

In the meantime, the agency continued with the lie detector test of Talwar and asked him questions about the crime scene again, besides quizzing him to verify the statement of other people, including his wife Nupur.

The CBI is awaiting a formal report from the Central Forensic laboratory.

Sources said it was a hard job as some of the evidence had been destroyed before the case came to the agency. The CBI was trying to fill in the missing links and had retrieved some data from the laptop of Talwar and desktop of Aarushi.

Talwar was produced before a court in Ghaziabad today, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.

The claims of the CBI, that Talwar would be instrumental in helping the agency find the murder weapon, also fell flat after he was sent to the judicial custody without any
opposition from the agency.

The CBI was trying to decide whether Talwar was inside the house or not when this incident took place.

In this connection, the agency had questioned several people including Nupur Talwar, Jeevan, brother-in-law of domestic help Hemraj and other neighbourers.

The telephone records of both -- Aarushi and Hemraj --were being scrutinised by the CBI and frequent callers were also been questioned.

On Wednesday, the CBI had subjected Talwar to a lie detector test after he gave his consent. He was asked questions about the whereabouts of Aarushi and Hemraj's mobile phones.

The CBI had claimed before the designated court that Talwar had recorded a statement under Section 161 of CrPC (statement before a police officer) that he would help the agency in recovering the mobile phones.

The agency had said that it picked up blood samples, which were still present at the scene of crime.

Besides the blood samples, the CBI also picked up suspected finger prints, palm prints, blood soaked blanket found on the body of Aarushi and some more clothes with blood stains on them.
