A contempt petition was on Wednesday filed against police on behalf of Noida twin murder case accused Rajesh Talwar alleging that his lawyers were not informed about his whereabouts and was taken to an undisclosed location which is in violation of the court's order.

The contempt petition was filed at the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate A K Singh around noon, claiming that Noida Police has not adhered to a direction that a lawyer can be present during the interrogation of Talwar.

The judge has fixed the date of hearing on May 30.

"We have filed the contempt petition. We do not know about the whereabouts of Talwar. We do not know where Talwar has been taken to from Dasna jail," Talwar's lawyer M P Singh said.

"The Noida Police move is against what the court has ordered. The court has categorically said a lawyer can be present during the interrogation," he said, adding they also plan to approach the Allahabad High Court in this regard.

The judge had allowed the presence of a lawyer during the interrogation of Talwar, who was remanded to three-days' police custody yesterday, after defence lawyers expressed apprehension that the dentist could be tortured in custody.

"During interrogation, one lawyer will remain with the accused at an appropriate distance," the court had said.

Talwar was arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of his teenaged daughter Arushi and family help Hemraj on May 16.
