Ruling out the possibility of contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Priyanka Gandhi [Images] Vadra on Tuesday said that she would actively campaign for her mother Sonia Gandhi [Images] and brother Rahul Gandhi [Images], in Rae Bareli and Amethi constituencies respectively.

"I do not have any political ambitions... I am here to strengthen the party and campaign for my brother (Rahul) and mother (Sonia) in Amethi and Rae Bareli constituencies as they will be busy campaigning for party candidates across the country," Priyanka told reporters at Amethi on Tuesday.

Asked whether she would consider the demand of the electorate for contesting the Parliamentary elections, Priyanka said it was an old demand and she would not contest elections.

Earlier this year, several local units of the Congress in Moradabad, Allahabad, Lucknow and Sultanpur among others, had asked the party to field Priyanka from Uttar Pradesh [Images].

Priyanka visited Amethi and Rae Bareli constituencies on a day-long tour on Tuesday, when she met party workers and discussed the LS polls.

Calling for unity among them, she told Congress Sewa Dal volunteers to fan out throughout the two constituencies and highlight the development work being done by the Congress.
