Peter Gilchrist chalks his cue as he makes his first visit of the first seession of the final. The 1994 champion, who trailed Russell by a mere nine points at the halfway stage, came back surer and stronger in the second session with breaks of 97, 194 and 99, to establish a 300-point lead. From then on, he never looked back.
