Serena Williams finally managed to gather herself in the third set to win the match 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-4 in nearly two and half hours of play to become only the fifth woman to hold all four majors at the same time .

"I never get choked up but I'm really emotional right now", Serena said. "I just wanted to win so bad. I think if she served really well in the first and the third, the way she did in the second, I wouldn't have had a chance.
