Expressing delight at winning two gold medals at the Doha Asian Games, Grandmaster Koneru Humpy on Friday described her feat as "a unique experience".

Humpy won the gold in the individual event and for the team which also included P Harikrishna and Sasikiran, as the Indians carved top honours on the checkered board.

"It is a different honour to win a medal for the country and the national pride that I experienced when our anthem was played during medal presentation ceremony was unique," Humpy said on her return from Doha on Friday morning.

"I was confident but expected China to be very tough. Once I crossed that hurdle, it was almost a cakewalk."

"Though gold was assured after the penultimate round, my draw in the last game was a bit disappointing," she said, adding that playing as a team with "P Harikrishna and Sasikiran was a great experience."
